A comfort fit band is slightly rounded on the inside. This can be more comfortable because not only does it slide over your knuckle easier, but comfort fit bands also curve away from the skin, allowing it extra room. This keeps the edges from pressing on the finger, making the band more comfortable to wear.
The main difference between these two rings is the inside edge shape. Notice on the image below that the inside of the Comfort Fit Band is domed while the Standard Fit is flat inside.
Comfort fit bands typically cost more because of the additional gold weight, but this produces a band fit that is more comfortable to wear.
