Noa + Mari

Noa and I lived in the same neighborhood on Oʻahu for about a year but never talked. I would see him walking his dog around the block and he would see me doing my college work from my front porch table. We noticed each other but never had a conversation or even knew each other’s names. After moving out of that neighborhood, flash forward to a few months later, I went to a volunteer event at a local church to pack Christmas boxes for children. When I got there, I noticed someone who looked a lot like the guy who would walk his dog. I went up and said, “This might be weird, but I think we used to be neighbors!”

We chatted for a few minutes and learned that his mom was from the same small Washington town that I was. We parted ways without exchanging contact information. A few days later, my old housemate who still lived in Noa's neighborhood texted me and said, "Hey Mari, this is Noa's number from your old neighborhood."

Noa had given him his phone number to pass along to me. A few days later, we went on our first "date" hiking with a few of his friends. Three years later, we have 5 cats, 4 bunnies, 3 dogs, and a bunch of chickens, and are getting married!

We actually came to the Olive Ave storefront in Arizona last September when we were on a trip! We tried on a bunch of rings, and I was obsessed with the Abel and Townes rings. We decided that Asher with double prongs was the perfect combo of them both!
