At the beginning of 2022 we asked our followers to be the designers. We had them submit a sketch of their dream ring along with their story and a name for their sentimental piece. Countless submissions poured in and we selected two people to bring their rings to life alongside our design team. Their rings were made for the designers to keep and now live on our website available to all.

“This ring symbolizes not only my husband and I’d love story, but also the love stories that helped to make our’s possible. I met my husband when I was living in Haiti. We quickly fell in love and were planning to get married. In order for that to happen though, I told him he needed to meet my family before we got engaged. This seemed like a rather simple thing but for us, it was a challenge because of the visa he would need in order to be granted permission to travel stateside. After lots of paperwork, appointments, fees and disappointment, we finally got the approval and were able to travel to the states.
A ring for the engagement was low on the priority list because the main goal was just to be able to get him there. We were blessed to have an amazing couple from Haiti who shared a similar story to our’s, gift us a ring that was once gifted to them when they were in our place. Because that ring has meant so much to us, I wanted to incorporate it into this design by using the same diamond shapes that are on the original - two marquise, one large round, and three small round. I also wanted to pair the six original diamond shapes with something new so I added an emerald cut diamond. The six original diamonds represent the many love stories that have gone before us to help get us to where we are and the new emerald diamond represents the new story that we are building together as one.
I choose the name “Cherie” which is French for “Dear” because that is what is inscribed on the inside of my husband’s ring. My husband speaks French Creole make it an everyday part of our lives.”

“I have always admired the ornate quality and vintage aesthetic of a split shank ring design, so I knew I wanted to incorporate this feature into my ring, which I named Marden. I love how to split shank draws your eye towards the center stone. And how it embodies the sentiment of two lives merging around the band. I was inspired by my own love story and the unwavering love that I have been so lucky to experience. I met my partner Ed in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic, and he was my steadfast support throughout all the ups and downs of the past two years. To reflect his resolute love, I designed a ring that had the spirit of timeless strength and stability. The Olive Ave team helped to achieve the perfect aesthetic balance of bold yet feminine, striking yet dainty for Marden.”
