Jordan and Thomas spent years commuting together, studying together and making each other laugh, all while one of them quietly hoped for something more. Their story eventually led to a sunrise proposal on the Jersey Shore, a ring tossed into the sand to keep it hidden and a moment that felt every bit as special as they'd imagined.
the love story
Jordan and Thomas met as freshmen in college in New York City, and they quickly became inseparable. They spent countless hours riding the train together, studying in the library before class and finding excuses to spend more time together.
Thomas knew where his feelings were headed long before Jordan did.
He kept asking her to hang out. Jordan kept saying no, partly because she worried their friendship might become something more.
As it turns out, she was right.
the proposal
Every summer, Jordan and Thomas visit his mom's beach house on the Jersey Shore. Their favorite tradition is waking up before sunrise on the last morning of the trip to watch the sun come up with family.
This year, it was just the two of them.
They settled onto a blanket when two "random" guys walked over and offered to take a photo because they looked so cute together. Jordan laughed and jokingly checked Thomas's pockets.
What she didn't know was that he'd already tossed the ring into the sand moments earlier so she wouldn't find it.
She had a feeling something was coming, but let herself enjoy the moment anyway.
When the photographer asked them to stand back-to-back, everything clicked. Even after figuring it out, nothing could take away the feeling of hearing Thomas ask the question she'd been waiting for and saying yes to forever with her best friend.
