2025 Love Designed Winner: The Harris Ring
A heartfelt Olive Ave story featuring the Harris Ring, the 2026 Love Designed winner inspired by quilting, family and the beauty of creating something deeply personal.
A story of motherhood, creativity, and the piece that helped her find herself again.
Olive Ave's tradition of love designed
Every year, Love Designed invites the Olive Ave community into the creative process.
At Olive Ave, jewelry has always been about more than a design. Every piece begins with a story, a memory, a person or a feeling. Through Love Designed, that story comes directly from the people who wear it.
Last October, Olive Ave brought back one of its favorite traditions and invited the community to dream up a ring of their own. Participants were asked to submit the name of their ring, the story behind it and a sketch or visual representation of what they imagined it could become.
Past winners have always reflected the deeply personal nature of the collection.
The Cherie Ring, designed by Claire P., was inspired by the ring she was gifted while building a life with her husband after they met in Haiti. The six original diamonds from that ring represented the love stories that came before them, while a new emerald-cut center stone symbolized the life they were creating together.
The Marden Ring, designed by Lily C., was created to reflect the unwavering love and support she experienced with her partner. Its split shank symbolized two lives coming together, balancing boldness and softness in a way that felt entirely their own.
This year, one design stood out.
the design that won
When Lauren saw the announcement for Love Designed, she immediately knew what she wanted to create.
"What if there was a ring inspired by a quilt?"
More specifically, a double wedding ring quilt, a traditional quilt pattern often given at weddings that symbolizes connection, commitment and love.
At first, it was simply an idea. Then she realized she could actually bring it to life.
She sketched out her design and submitted it, hoping that maybe someone else would see what she saw in it too.
They did.
Lauren’s design became the 2025 Love Designed winner.
THE STORY BEHIND THE HARRIS RING
The Harris Ring was inspired by the double wedding ring quilt, with its interwoven curves representing the way two lives become connected.
But for Lauren, the meaning behind it goes beyond the symbolism of the pattern itself.
After becoming a mom, quilting became something she turned to in order to reconnect with herself. In a season of life that was full of caring for others, quilting became something that belonged only to her. It gave her a creative outlet, a way to make something beautiful and meaningful with her own hands.
The Harris Ring became an extension of that feeling.
It is a reflection of motherhood, identity and the parts of ourselves we rediscover along the way.
Lauren named the ring, Harris, after her mother-in-law, the person who taught her how to quilt and who inspired her love for it in the first place.
BRINGING THE DESIGN TO LIFE
Once Lauren’s design was chosen, the Olive Ave team worked closely with her to bring the Harris Ring to life.
The process began with digital renderings, translating her original sketch into something more detailed and refined. From there, she was able to review every angle, make adjustments and see the design evolve.
Eventually, she received a wax model to try on, allowing her to see and feel the ring before it was finalized.
By the time she saw the finished ring in person, it already felt familiar.
And still, it was better than she imagined.
The final design captures the flowing movement and layered detail of a quilt while still feeling elegant, wearable and timeless.
The Harris Ring is now part of the Olive Ave collection, carrying Lauren’s story with it every time someone wears it.
A PIECE THAT CARRIES A STORY
What makes the Harris Ring so special is not just the design itself, but everything it represents. It is a reminder that the most meaningful pieces come from the stories behind them.
A mother teaching her daughter to quilt. A woman rediscovering a part of herself. A pattern passed down through generations, transformed into something entirely new.
And now, through Love Designed, Lauren’s story becomes part of Olive Ave too.
