Peyton and I met through an online dating app, a pretty typical story nowadays. Him living the cowboy lifestyle in rural Colorado, USA, and myself being in Alberta, Canada, I must admit I’m thankful for the invention of dating apps. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be typing this! We bonded instantly over Zach Bryan and Tyler Childers, and you know when you have the same music taste it’s going to be a good match. From the moment we started talking it quickly turned into facetime calls that lasted a few hours and we got in a rhythm of talking everyday. We grew close quite quickly and after a month and a half of talking I made the plunge to travel to Colorado to visit. Since I fly to work for a living, it wasn’t that fantastical of an idea to fly for a relationship. It felt kind of like a Love is Blind episode except there wasn’t ongoing competition of multiple contestants through our facetime phase and I was allowed to know what he looked like. Okay, well maybe just the psychological aspect of is relatable to the tv series. We did everything from cowboying, fishing, campfires, quadding, church, exploring, the list goes on. Easily the best trip/first date. Fast forward three weeks he visited Canada and another three weeks later I went down to visit and ended up with a new horse and new ring. We didn’t waste any time, when you know you know! Prior to my second visit to the US, we were looking at rings and after I found Olive Ave on Instagram and took a quick browse through the styles, I knew the Genevieve was the obvious fit. We worked with the customization team and they were incredibly helpful and supportive every step of the way. The ring came just in time with our tight schedules and everything lined up for us for a perfect mountain proposal in Colorado. I could not be happier with the ring, and I could not be more in love.
